Many people do this wrong. It’s not your fault, rather it’s how similar they sound, it confuses you.

Content is to be satisfied.

As given in the image, you may use this word to describe being close to another person or thing or a habit. You may feel content on having delicious ? food, meeting a friend, etc…

Contend is to cope with something

Generally, used to express a competitive scenario. Think of it as you are lacking behind with some work and now you need to struggle (or cope with) and meet ends. This ‘struggle’ here is you contend-ing.

Now, for some mind bending sentences,

I feel content over the fact that you don’t need to contend with the meaning of content and contend.
